Anokhi… translates to “unique” in Sanskrit, the ancient language associated with India. Anokhi Dental is unique in that our team provides a wide range of general dental services with an emphasis on working as harmoniously with your body as possible.
More than ever, these days we are recognising that the whole body is connected. This means on a mind, body and spirit level. The mouth is intimately associated with the rest of the body through many pathways. These include blood, nerves, lymph and energy meridians associated with acupuncture points. Essentially, the body affects the mouth and the mouth affects the body.
We are always mindful of the treatments that we carry out and the materials that we use. This involves continuous research and updating of our knowledge. Of course, every material placed and every procedure carried out has some effect on the person as a whole. We will however, try to minimise the impact of our work on your body. Anokhi Dental is proudly a mercury safe and fluoride free practice.
Anokhi Dental is a unique holistic dental practice located in the heart of Sydney CBD.
Our passionate team provide a wide range of general dental services with an emphasis on working as harmoniously with your body as possible. We respect the intimate relationship between oral and overall health and “look beyond the mouth” in order to provide you with the best possible holistic care. You will experience the Anokhi difference from the moment you come through our doors. Anokhi will change the way you feel about your dental care.
Welcome to Anokhi Dental.
Cross Infection Control
At Anokhi Dental we place great importance on cross infection control throughout the practice. Infection control policies and procedures are constantly changing and our team attends regular training seminars at the University of Sydney and the Australian Dental Association in order to stay up to date with these changes.
We also have a dedicated, full time staff member to manage our sterilisation bay and assist in infection control. This means that you can have peace of mind knowing that you are being treated in a safe environment.
Our state of the art sterilisation bay is designed for optimal performance and all of our equipment is purchased locally and compliant with TGA standards. We also adhere to a strict schedule of regular testing, calibration and servicing of our equipment.
Where possible we utilise biodegradable single use disposable items. All reusable instruments are cleaned in a hospital grade instrument washer and then sterilised in a TGA approved autoclave in accordance with current Australian standards. Daily tests are also run on our equipment to ensure they are functioning correctly.
Our sterilisation procedure incorporates a fully computerised barcode tracking system. The system is identical to those used in many hospital sterilisation departments and has been adapted for use in dental practices. All of our instrument bags are issued a unique barcode that is linked to a specific sterilisation cycle. This means we can be absolutely sure that the instruments used during your treatment have been sterilised to the highest standards.
We are also proud to be a QIP accredited practice. This means that we have demonstrated and implemented evidence-based, consistent standards of quality care – as per the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards. This is an ongoing process which we regularly update and implement.
Within the surgeries and around the practice we also adhere to strict protocols around infection control. We regularly review and update these protocols at our team meetings to ensure you are always receiving the very best and safest of care.
If you have any questions about our cross infection control policies or wish to provide us with feedback please contact us on (02) 92645195.
At Anokhi Dental we want you to have peace of mind when you come to our practice. Peace of mind that you are receiving high quality dental care in a practice that is committed to safety, quality and excellence. This extends to all aspects of the service we provide for you. It is important to us to make sure we have taken every possible precaution to keep you safe and comfortable when you visit us.
For this reason, we are proud to be associated with Quality Innovation Performance (QIP) as an accredited dental clinic. QIP is based on integrating National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards into a dental practice’s existing quality standards systems.
Gaining accreditation is not compulsory for dental practices however as we are dedicated to providing you with the best care, we have voluntarily gone through this process to become an accredited practice. To achieve this accreditation, we have demonstrated and implemented evidence-based, consistent standards of quality care – as per the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
Accreditation is an ongoing process and we are continually reviewing our high standards and improving our systems in order to provide you with finest care consistent with best practices.
What this means for you.
